Shigmotsav – a 15-day celebration of Goa’s folk traditions

March marks the beginning of Shigmotsav, a festival that celebrates Goa’s rich folklore, vibrant traditions, and artistic legacy. Running from March 15 to 29, this grand cultural event will be a true testament to Goa’s heritage, blending traditional performances with modern artistic interpretations.

As Ponda kicks off the festival on March 15, the excitement will spread across different regions, culminating in a spectacular finale in Porvorim on March 29. Major processions in Dharbandora on March 19 and Calangute on March 20 will add to the excitement, offering a unique blend of music, folk dances, and mesmerizing float parades.
